Lydia works in both oil and pastel, creating impressionistic landscapes and figurative pieces that capture the fleeting effects of light and a moment in time. Her paintings reflect a deep connection to the natural world, inviting viewers to pause and rediscover the beauty that surrounds us. For the past twenty years, Lydia has devoted herself to painting both en plein air and in the studio, balancing spontaneity with thoughtful composition.
She began her artistic career with a Bachelor of Arts in both graphic design and fine art. After working as a designer and art director, she became a partner in a Colorado-based creative agency, where she spent over twenty-five years honing her visual sensibilities and creative leadership.
A desire to pursue a more personal and expressive vision led Lydia back to fine art. The late Elizabeth Mowry has been a lasting influence on her artistic journey, inspiring both her approach to painting and her reverence for capturing the subtle magic of nature.
