Cheryl Gratias

As an artist and a scientist, Cheryl Gratias has followed a call to observe, experiment, create, and share - - a practice that lies at the heart of both pursuits. Her vivid watercolors embody light, color, energy and life, the same qualities that defined her work as a physicist in laser optics. Cheryl’s art is supported by strong drawing skills honed as a technical illustrator for over a decade. This expertise gives her the freedom to tackle a wide variety of subjects and enables her to seamlessly incorporate lively India ink linework into many of her paintings.  It is her hope that the bright energy and life of these paintings resonate with her viewers and can enliven and bring joy to their personal spaces.

Cheryl’s award-winning work has most recently been exhibited in the “2025 Regional Fine Art Show” in Loveland, CO; the Colorado Watercolor Society’s 2024 “Inspirations” Exhibit in Colorado Springs, CO; and in the “2024 National Fine Art Show” in Loveland, CO. She is also a popular instructor for the Thompson Valley Art League at Lincoln Gallery in Loveland.
