Estes Park Women's Monument Project

Estes Park Women's Monument Project

The intent of the Estes Park Women’s Monument project is to create and install a significant monument to honor the historical women of Estes Park in a prominent downtown location. The basic concept of the monument is for a life-size representational bronze statue of a historical Estes Park Woman along with her story. In addition, the artwork will contain the stories of multiple other historical women of Estes Park and some associated stone elements. The monument will be installed in a prominent, park-like setting in downtown Estes Park. This project is supported by the Town of Estes Park and is being championed by the Parks Advisory Board (PAB).

In addition, the Town has donated the land required for this important monument.  The fundraising effort has broad public support, but it’s a grassroots effort so it will only happen if we achieve our fundraising goals. You can help!

This project keeps Estes Park at the forefront of current public art projects with its unique focus on the historical women of Estes Park. There are not many communities in the USA that have commissioned public art specifically recognizing women. The year 2020 is significant, too. It’s the 100th year anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution.

There are so many women who helped shape the Estes Park that we know and love today. What better way to celebrate our history and give to our future than to be a part of this exciting project and help add a new significant piece of public art that honors the Historic Women of Estes Park. Help us meet our goal by donating today.
