The Art Center of Estes Park is pleased to present popular speaker Chuck Benson.  His lecture, “The Art and Architecture of C.F.A. Voysey and Sir Edwin Lutyens” focuses on the works of two of the most beloved architects and designers from the turn of the 19th to 20th centuries – the end of the Arts and Crafts movement in Great Britain.  This era was also known as the British Art Nouveau, or Edwardian Period.  The holistic approach to residential design of these two extraordinary artists has in part defined our enchantment with the English Country Cottage.  Come explore their genius.  The lecture will be in the Art Center’s gallery in Stanley Village, on Highway 34 across from the Estes Park Visitor Center.

Chuck Benson has been giving Art and Architecture lectures and leading trips to places of interest in both Europe and the United States for more than 20 years. He teaches at the University of Colorado, in both Art and Architectural History, and is an owner and principal of his own firm in Colorado Springs, ATRMC.  In March he will be leading a trip to Washing, D.C. to explore its Art and Architectural Heritage.  Several individuals from the Estes Park area will be participating.  Chuck very much enjoys getting people excited about the History of Art, and exploring the magic of learning how to look more closely.
