I love all forms of art, and I love to “play” with all mediums, but my passion is watercolor.  I love the way the colors have a mind of their own, they can be bold, rich and dramatic, or soft, pastel  and understated,  just by adjusting the amount of water and pigment.  The pigments can run together to create new colors and by simply manipulating the paper, brush and water, they can create their own painting.   I love painting anything in nature; flowers, landscapes, floralscapes, trees, water scenes, and homes and gardens.     When I begin a painting, I want to “feel” what I am painting.  For example if I am painting a landscape, I want to create a place where I would like to be if I could actually step into the painting.  By painting pictures of my travels, I can create a place that I loved visiting, that I would like to remember or would like to return to someday.

I also do a lot of commission work, including painting 9 full-color watercolors for the Newcomers Club of Estes Park Cookbook depicting scenes of local events and points of interest in and around the Estes Valley. This was published in 2005 and sold locally, had two printings, and raised over $10,000 for education.
