Betty Dolman

 Dolman's etchings, engravings and watercolors reflect her intense interest in the landscape. "The integrity of the land requires the same honesty on the part of the artist. This struggle for clarity of vision is one of the most demanding tasks an image maker can tackle, but one well worth the commitment."

Dolman studied at the Art Student League in New York City and received her fine arts degree from Pratt Institute in New York. She has studied sculpture and printmaking at the University of Oklahoma and Colorado State University.

Dolman is a member of the prestigious Los Angeles Printmakers Society, which gives her the opportunity to exhibit in shows throughout the United States. The summer of 1993 found Dolman's work "Two Trees" traveling to Oslo, Norway - chosen as part of a U.S. Norway Exchange Exhibition. The show was exhibited at the Galleri Norske Grafikere in Oslo. The "Two Trees" print has won several other awards including first prize in the Colorado Artists' Show and second prize in a Palos Verdes, California exhibition.

Betty Dolman is among the 27 nationally recognized printmakers whose work was gathered in exhibition at the National Copper Engravers Invitational at Littman Gallery in Portland, Oregon. The exhibition featured Dolman's engraving "Secrets" as well as the work of nearly every key Engraver currently working in the United States. Participants included Mauricio Lasansky of the famed Iowa Print School and Gabor Peterdi, author of the most respected books on engraving and printmaking. Both artists are at the forefront of printmaking in this country.

Dolman has a printmaking studio and home in Estes Park. Her work is included in private collections throughout the United States.
