I have been working in clay for 3 decades.  I began as a functional potter, because I love useful pots.  Although much of my work in now more sculptural, I still have a fascination for the functional form.  These pots are high-fired stoneware and porcelain; they are dishwasher and microwave safe.  My decorative motif usually involves the flower or the landscape, in combination with overlapping glaze layers.

The sculptural work often takes the form of abstracted and intertwined figures.  In these forms I am exploring the Union of Opposites--masculine and feminine, light and dark, new and old, and so on, into Wholeness.  My work is influenced by my travels in Asia and my studies in Buddhism.  I have just finished a series of Colorado Spirit Houses, inspired by the Buddhist tradition of spirit houses.
